Becoming a mom inspired me to study education, even mentoring future teachers along their journey. Yet, life led me into an unexpected career that taught me profound lessons about my own priorities.
My journey into real estate has been about educating and empowering myself and others while learning balance. I was raised in New Mexico, where I met my then husband in high school. Numbers came naturally to me, so I decided to study accounting in college, but it didn’t take me long to realize I needed more than numbers—I needed purpose. I became president of our community’s humane society which helped animals in our local shelters and started a free spay and neuter clinic. At the same time, I helped manage the rental properties my then husband and I owned in New Mexico. For about seven years, life revolved around these responsibilities.
Then came my first child, Lenzy. Becoming a mother inspired me to return to college and earn a degree in education. Soon after, we welcomed our second child, Jorja, and life became wonderfully full. I loved being a mom and creating a career as an educator, teaching kindergarteners core skills, and mentoring future teachers. Education is still close to my heart—it’s where I learned patience and the importance of empowering others with knowledge.
Eventually, our lives in New Mexico started to feel predictable, and we craved change. When my then husband left the service, we moved to Charleston, South Carolina, a place where we knew no one but felt drawn to the ocean and a fresh start. Not long after arriving, my real estate agent suggested I get into real estate myself. I took the advice, got my license in 2009, and found myself navigating a turbulent market crash. Since I worked for the Federal Department for Housing and Urban Development, I was surprisingly busy, handling the foreclosures and selling a large number of government-owned houses. It was a great learning experience, but I was craving more training.
Two years later, I joined a small, ambitious team of two realtors. Their determination to compete with larger teams was inspiring, and I knew I’d found my place. We officially became a trio and have been thriving together for over 11 years, supporting each other while serving clients with professionalism.
Real estate became my world. I was constantly busy, talking to clients, and striving for success. I gave all my time to my business –– a drive that unfortunately cost me my marriage. There is nothing fun about handling a challenging divorce –– it was a painful period –– but it forced me to reflect on my priorities. I needed to hold my personal life above work. My family is sacred, and to maintain its sanctity, I learned to say “no.”
That change paved the way for Andrew to enter my life. We took things slowly, prioritizing meaningful conversations before taking any next steps. Eventually, we fell in love, and recently, he proposed during a work trip! This chapter of my life feels balanced—I’ve learned to prioritize relationships while maintaining a successful career. I’m also proud of the independence I gained after my divorce, managing to pay all my debts off (including my home), on my own, and care for my children as a single mother.
When I’m not working, I’m often near the water. Andrew introduced me to boating and fishing, hobbies that have become my way to de-stress. I also cherish time with my grandchild, Wyatt, and enjoy keeping in touch with clients over a meal or random visit, long after the transaction is over. I’m involved in volunteer work through my church, running the lights during service, offering food to those in need, and providing shelter for the homeless during colder months.
My journey into real estate has been one of self-discovery and empowerment—a path that has given me the independence and confidence to thrive while maintaining balance in my life. This career fuels my passion for uplifting others through education, guiding my clients to make thoughtful, informed decisions about their future. There’s nothing more rewarding than building trust and lasting relationships, knowing I’ve played a role in helping them achieve their dreams. I strive to provide a professional and supportive experience for every client I serve.
It’s an honor to help clients navigate such a major life milestone. I fight for them and I’m on their side. With my background in education, I bring patience to the process, thoroughly explaining every step so there are no surprises. I hold my client’s hand, so to speak, through each phase. I also connect them with an extensive network of trusted professionals to meet any need along the way. There is no challenge my team and I cannot handle.
One of my core values is transparency. I ensure my clients know everything—the good, the bad, and the ugly—so they fully understand the implications of their choices. With over 16 years of experience, I’m skilled at solving problems, offering solutions, and suggesting possibilities they may not have considered. Whether it’s residential, commercial, or property management, my team and I are available 7 days a week to tackle your real estate needs. Beyond the transaction, my connection with clients often grows into lasting friendships that extend well past the closing table.
